Art by CliffordEarl

This was my very first post, The Bird’s Seat. That’s it – just a photo of a bird perched on a wooden ball. At the time the idea of a blog where I could post my writing appealed to me but the challenge was to figure out how to start.

Knowing how easy it would be to get lost in all the details of taking the next step, I took direct action by impulsively posting a quick photo taken of an art piece in our home. At the time that silly bird in a way defined me – quirky, colorful, aware yet oblivious.

After that first post, I added only a few more:  there is contemplation of a dog’s life in Cuba, and the imagined life of a neighborhood cat. These, too revealed more, but there were no further additions until now.

Much has happened since then, much that I’ve seen, done and learned. There are new and ongoing connections with the lives of my animal friends, along with new observations and appreciation of life. Much of it has caused me to think, to weigh, and to write. And now I’m ready to resume sharing.

And so this is a restart. Soon you’ll see the complete view of the Bird’s Seat, you’ll go to some of the places I’ve traveled, and you’ll engage more into the life of The Cat. Best of all, you’ll see that I’ve left the Bird’s Seat and realized that I’m on a ride!

Come along and ride with me.
