El Cohete is Recovering – Part I
After a long month, El Cohete is recovering.
It was a month of great turmoil and agitation,
It was a time of emotional stress and confusion.
It had such an innocent start.
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A GOOD DEED GO ASKEW?
It was a good day, a day when Mommy took him to his favorite dog park.
This is not the park right around the corner; instead, she drove him to the bigger one about a mile away.
As she sipped her coffee, he and the other dogs enjoyed their playtime – they ran around and around, they sniffed, and they chased each other. Then, one by one, the other dogs left with their owners.
Except for her –
She had no leash, no tags, and no owner in sight. Mommy wondered what to do. She waited and waited, however no one showed up for the ginger-colored dog.
El Cohete sabía que Mamá tiene un corazón bondadoso:
– Ella es buena para resolver problemas,
– Es buena para arreglar las cosas.
– Es atenta.
Ella encontró una cuerda y la usó para llevar a la perrita hasta el coche.
El Cohete knew that Mommy has a kind heart :
-She is good at solving problems,
-She is good at fixing things, and
-She is helpful.
She found a rope and used it to lead the dog to their car.
A Cohete le pareció bien que el perro viajara en coche con ellos.
Cohete se alegró de que el perro volviera a casa con ellos.
Al ver que el perro se acomodaba y se sentía a gusto como invitado en su hogar,
Cohete se sintió feliz por ello.
Al menos, durante un tiempo.
Cohete was ok with the dog riding along in the car with them.
Cohete was happy to have the dog come home with them.
As she became comfortable as a guest in their home,
Cohete was happy about that.
For a while, at least.
Él fue amable y feliz de compartir sus comidas,
su agua, sus juguetes, sus cubitos de hielo y
su espacio con ella.
Ella era más o menos del mismo tamaño que El Cohete.
Ella jugaba con él.
He was gracious and happy to share his meals,
his water,
his toys,
his ice cubes
and his space with her.
She was about the same size as El Cohete and she played with him.
They named her Ginger.
FOUND – MISSING DOG
This is what mommy and daddy wrote on signs and posted around the neighborhood.
They used social media, they called shelters, and they posted more signs at all the dog parks,
at shops, and online everyone knew that they had FOUND A MISSING DOG.

But no one missed her.

They named her Ginger and welcomed her into their home. Temporarily.
